| Toronto's Spadina Museum Historic House and Gardens has had a sizeable archaeological component from its start. Excavations during the development of the museum in the early 1980's and more since then have contributed to exhibits describing the house and its gardens. The basement has been developed as an exhibit of the archaeological process with /in situ/ archaeological and architectural features. Together with the Ontario Heritage Foundation, Spadina Museum since 2001 has offered summer day camps for children aged 8-14. Kids get to learn about archaeology while taking part in a dig on the grounds. This partnership is an excellent promotion of archaeology to the public. |
